The Digital Door with Activity Lock and scheduling is a
very convenient, flexible, effective, easy to use application which is well
suited for the automatic operation. The proposed project is based on NodeMCU
micro-controller which is a controlling mechanism that allow only an authorized
person to access. It has been integrated with both mechanical and electronic
devices. It is highly efficient and scalable. Technically, the system is the
network of sensor nodes. It is controlled and monitored remotely through
internet. The proposed project
has an ability to control the vulnerability from the user. The proposed project
is needed to secure the system from various attacks. It will monitor, analyse
and report the activity of the user with the help of PIR (Passive InfraRed)
sensor. The PIR sensor is mainly used to detect the levels of infrared
radiations. The PIR sensor is used to detect the
presence of human beings in a specified range. The PIR sensor have three
pin connections. One pin will be connected to the ground, the second pin will
be connected to the signal and the last one will be connected to the power. The
power supply for the PIR sensor must be within 5 volts. The detection range of
the PIR sensor is 5 to 10 meters. The PIR sensor consists of pyro electric
sensors that can change the temperature into an electrical signal. The PIR
sensor is very small and inexpensive. The proposed project has an ability to
open and close the door automatically by a occurrence of the person within the
specified range of distance through NodeMCU controller and PIR sensor. It has the
remote-control mechanism to communicate between the device and the application
through MQTT (Message Queueing Telemetry Transport) protocol like a broker. The
MQTT protocol is a lightweight machine-to-machine(M2M) message transferring
protocol with low network bandwidth and it is well suited for remote-control
mechanism. The MQTT protocol does not have a direct connection between the
publisher and the subscriber. The MQTT protocol has three different level of
quality of service. They are QoS level 0, QoS level 1 and QoS level 2. The QoS
level 0 is the simplest level, it requires no acknowledgement from the client.
The QoS level 1 ensures that the message has been delivered to the client. But
there is also a chance for delivering the message more than once to the client.
The QoS level 2 provides guarantee that the message will be delivered to the
client only once. The characteristics of MQTT protocol has low latency, fast
transaction, high scalability and it is well suited for the remote sensing. The
MQTT protocol will reduce the network bandwidth. The MQTT has an ability to
publish and subscribe only text message and it is based on TCP (Transmission
Control Protocol). The admin only has the responsibility to set the default
scheduling time and also have an option to change the time of scheduling. The
proposed project will have an ability to open and close the door automatically
at the time of scheduling. It has an ability to notify an alert message when
the person arrives after the scheduling time. The user or admin has the
responsibility to allow the arrived person by opening the door or they can
capture the person image for identification and can take necessary action. The
mechanical devices have been connected to the mobile application. The user can
operate the device remotely by mobile application. The mobile application will
record all the alert message and the devices will record all the captured
images. The proposed project has the effectiveness to capture the person image
when they arrive to the location after the scheduling time and notify to the
application. The system will record all the details about the occurrence of the
person after the scheduling time.
