By social capital contributes significantly to sustainable development

By considering the three distinct dimensions of social capital
(structural, relational and cognitive), it can be assumed that social capital
affect knowledge contributing and gathering by providing access to people with
relevant knowledge; providing a common interest and an atmosphere of mutual
trust and obligation for the value of others ‘knowledge; sharing a common
ability that helps in understanding other people’s knowledge and as well spot-on
correct interpretation and assessment of all level of knowledge (Darvish & Nikbakhsh, 2010). There is increasing
empirical evidence that social capital contributes significantly to sustainable
development and it states that social affairs among the members of a society can be productive resources where without social
capital, society at large will collapse (Coleman, 1988).

For decades however these theories and the
idea of social capital has been put front as an important also a merging concept
embodying these multidisciplinary views (Capello, Caragliu, & Nijkamp, 2009). The concept has been greatly inspired by the studies of scholars
such as James Coleman (1988) and Robert Putnam (1995). For some researchers
from these three defined dimensions of Social Capital, relational capital
contains of reflect the features of both structural and cognitive capital where
relational qualities exist under each category. For example, according to the
study of Camagini (2008) relational capital, relational private services, or
cooperation networks affect cognitive aspects in a more direct way. They can
all be seen as part of the social capital which traditionally comprises a
network component (what in the milieu literature
has been defined as “relational capital”), Though
it may be argued that a social capital exists wherever a society exists,
‘relational’ capital may be interpreted as a set of bilateral, multilateral
linkages that local actors have developed, both inside and outside the local region. For
this reason, among all the elements mentioned in the innovative cross (Cronin, 2016), it’s evident
that relational aspects or relational qualities strongly linked with the Cognitive
dimension and together it gives a great evident and understanding on social capital
theory.
