A Macbeth received a letter from her husband

A relationship is where two people care about each other and put their significant other before themselves.. A good relationship consists of a lot of hard work, the couple should be loyal, forgive each other, and communicate. Each relationships change over time, sometimes get better and sometimes become worse. A relationship takes a lot of effort and time. One of the most dramatic marriages ever read about was Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship caused many chaotic outcomes, but in the end it proved to be fatal. In the beginning of Macbeth, the readers are already aware of the fasinating relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth received a letter from her husband about the witches’ prophecies. He wrote, “This have I thought good to to deliver thee, my dearest partner of greatness, that thou mightst not lose the dues of rejoicing by being ignorant of what greatness is promised thee.”( Macbeth, Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 9-12 )Macbeth knows that his wife will be in love with the thought of being queen. She tries to make Macbeth reach his potential by making him ashamed of everything that prevents him from being evil. When Macbeth arrives, she greets him as if she was already the queen. As the readers continue, they notice about how dangerous and deathly Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship can be. For example, the death of King Duncan. They invited King Duncan over for dinner at their castle. Lady Macbeth verbally assaults Macbeth, so he will stick to the plan and kill King Duncan. She told him that if he did not succeed in killing Duncan that he did not love her. Macbeth attempts to stand up for himself by saying “I dare do all that may become a man; Who dares do more is none.” (Macbeth, Act 1, Scene 7, Lines 51-52)Their plan to kill Duncan was to get his two attendants drunk, so they would pass out and be blamed for the death of King Duncan. While Lady Macbeth is waiting to hear if Duncan is dead, her husband shows up with his hands covered in blood and with the dagger. Lady Macbeth takes the dagger back to Duncan’s and places it on the guards. Macbeth was talking about his hands being bloody and she said, “My hands are of your colour but I shame to wear a heart so white.”(Macbeth, Act 2, Scene 2, Lines 81-82) Lady Macbeth is feeling guilty about what she has done at this point. This plan showed that they would harm anyone to get the titles, King and Queen. It also shows that Lady Macbeth has guilt just like everyone else no matter what they are like. It proves that Macbeth would be lost without Lady Macbeth. There are many things that show what their relationship was about throughout Macbeth. For instance, when the new King and Queen invited Banquo over for dinner. Meanwhile, he plans the murder of Banquo and, unlike the killing of Duncan, leaves her outside the plot: “Be innocent of the knowledge, dearest chuck.” His change from “dearest love” to “dearest chuck” indicates loss of emotional bonding and equality; after their disastrous royal banquet, she calls him “sir.”(Pen and the Pad) The night Banquo was murdered, Macbeth hosted a banquet and his wife was greeting the guest Later on, while Lady Macbeth is sleepwalking, she thinks she saw a spot of Duncan’s blood on her hand. She tries desperately to wash it off but all she can imagine is Duncan being murdered. Her last lines were, “To bed, to bed! There’s knocking at the gate: come, come, come, come, give me your hand. What’s done cannot be undone.–To bed, to bed!” (Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 1, Lines 60-62) As Malcolm and his forces come to Macbeth’s castle, Macbeth is told that his wife is dead and no one told him how or why. In the end, Macbeth said, “She should have died hereafter; there would have been time for such a word.” (Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5, Lines 19-20)  After everything has happened, everyone is able to see what their relationship was actually like. Lady Macbeth constantly degrades Macbeth and tries to make him feel like he is not manly. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth act like they are perfect in front of everyone else. Lady Macbeth shows remorse and commits suicide. When Macbeth found out about his wife’s death, he did not even seem to care. After reading Macbeth,  there have been many dramatic things to happen that make people wonder about their relationship. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship proved that they were loyal to each other. They never gave each other up, no matter what happened. “Eager for each other’s advancement, their mutual ambition destroys them.”(Majorie Garber, Pen and the Pad) In a way, people may want their partner to have their back as much as they had each other’s. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship was one of a kind and will be remembered throughout history.
